There are two main ways that a candidate for political office can get their name on the ballot:

  1. Petition signatures from voters, or

  2. Nomination by delegates at a political party's assembly*. These delegates are first elected at your local county assembly.

At the combined Eagle County Caucus, Assembly & Convention, we will
  • Elect Precinct Organizers (PO) - POs help their neighbors find out about the Democratic Party and local candidates for important positions. The PO position lasts for two years, ending at the 2026 caucus

  • Appoint Election Judges - This is a paid position with the Eagle County Clerk & Recorder. You do not have to attend the caucus & assembly to be appointed to serve as an Election Judge. You are not bound to serve, and will have the opportunity to accept or decline shifts. Mandatory training will be provided.

  • Select which County Commissioner candidates will appear on the June 25 Non-Presidential Primary ballot

  • Elect delegates to serve at the following higher Assemblies & Conventions where related candidates will seek access to the Primary ballot. All of these meetings will be held virtually and you must attend the Eagle County Caucus, Assembly & Convention on March 9 to be elected as a delegate.

Higher Assemblies & Conventions:
  • House District 26 - March 30 at 12pm noon

  • House District 57 - March 30 at 12pm noon
