Letter: Eagle County stands for inclusion and respect

Updated: 4 hours ago

As a proud resident of Eagle County, I’m writing to share my strong support for the recent resolution that passed by the Eagle County Board of Commissioners. This resolution affirms a core truth about our community: that Eagle County is a welcoming, inclusive place where every person deserves dignity, safety, and access to public services.

At a time when division and fear too often dominate public discourse, I’m heartened to see our local leaders recommit to principles that make our community strong — equity, transparency, and collaboration. The resolution clearly states that Eagle County will continue to provide services to all residents and visitors, regardless of race, religion, nationality, disability, gender identity, or any other protected category. This is more than a symbolic gesture. It’s a statement of values and a promise of fairness in action.

If this message resonates with you, I urge you to attend an upcoming commissioners’ meeting or consider writing your own letter of support. Standing up for inclusivity helps ensure that every member of our community — friend, neighbor, coworker — feels seen, heard, and valued.

Let’s show that Eagle County truly is a place for all.
